Anyone growing up in the 1980’s will surely remember watching the movie Back To The Future. There were three movies produced in all. It starred Michael J. Fox with a gull wing DeLorean car modified to be capable of time travel.
The DeLorean is a cool car that was a one hit wonder. The company went bust before they could produce more models. Today, the cars a still sought after by people and there thrives a market to keep these cars on the road.
Back to LEGO, the Back To The Future DeLorean Time Machine 21103 set was initially designed by fans and submitted to LEGO Cuusoo. It is a place where people can vote for the models that they like and hope to see it produced. The LEGO group then reviews the sets once it has 10000 votes. If they are commercially viable, they will release it as an official model.
The cool LEGO DeLorean comes with parts to build the car from the three different eras as depicted in the movies. It also has two cute minifigures of Marty McFly and Doc Brown.
Because there are three versions, it’s just so tempting to purchase three sets to be able to display them together. Another thing to note is that there are no stickers in this set. The license plate, flux capacitor and time travel monitor are all printed on the tiles and brick and unique to this set.
This set is scheduled to be available from 1st August 2013 direct from LEGO. Can’t wait to get my hands on it.
